Chapter 13
Hattie Tells Alice She's Pregnant
It's been a week since Hattie found out that she is pregnant and she was waiting for Alice to arrive in Wonderland to tell her the great news. An hour later Hattie spotted Alice and took her out of earshot of everyone.
ALICE: So why did you want to talk to me, Hattie?
HATTIE: The reason why is because I have some great news to tell you. I found out about this a week ago today.
ALICE: What's your great news?
HATTIE: I'm pregnant.
ALICE: You're pregnant?
HATTIE: Yes I am.
ALICE: You said you found out a week ago?
HATTIE: That's right.
ALICE: Is that what you were doing when we told you that we were looking all over Wonderland for you.
HATTIE: Yes I was at the Wonderland Doctor's Office and that's when I found out I was pregnant.
ALICE: Why did you tell us that you went to the store?
HATTIE: I had to cover up for where I really was.
ALICE: So what else did the doctor tell you when he told you that you were pregnant?
HATTIE: He told me that I'm going to have twins.
ALICE: Twins?
HATTIE: Yes, twins.
ALICE: We have to go tell Mr. Hatter.
HATTIE: Not right now, Alice.
ALICE: Why not?
HATTIE: I'm not ready to tell him just yet.
ALICE: So what gender are the twins?
HATTIE: I'm not sure.
ALICE: What do you mean you're not sure?
HATTIE: Well the doctor asked me if I wanted to know the gender of the twins but I told him that I wanted to wait until Hatter was with me to find out.
ALICE: That was good thinking than that way you'll both know.
HATTIE: That's exactly what I was thinking.
ALICE: So what do you think the genders will be?
HATTIE: I don't know, but I do know that Hatter wants a boy and I want a girl.
ALICE: You and Mr. Hatter has talked about having a baby?
HATTIE: Yes we have. He told me that he want a boy.
ALICE: And you told him that you wanted a girl?
HATTIE: That's right.
ALICE: Did the subject of twins ever come up?
HATTIE: Yes we have talked about twins.
ALICE: So what did Mr. Hatter say about having twins?
HATTIE: He told me if we ever had twins that he wanted both boys.
ALICE: And what did you tell him?
HATTIE: I told him I wanted both girls.
ALICE: Hopefully when you find out that the twins will be a boy and a girl than that way the both of you will be happy.
HATTIE: How true that is.
Later that day Hattie was with The Mad Hatter.
THE MAD HATTER: Starshine, where were you earlier?
HATTIE: I was with Alice.
THE MAD HATTER: What were you and Alice doing?
HATTIE: Just talking.
THE MAD HATTER: Talking about what, starshine?
HATTIE: I can't tell you right now.
THE MAD HATTER: Why not?
HATTIE: That my dear Hatter is a special secret surprise.
THE MAD HATTER: But you will tell me?
HATTIE: I will when the time is right.
THE MAD HATTER: When will that be?
HATTIE: You'll know, Hatter, you'll know.
Later that night Hattie and The Mad Hatter were in bed with Hattie sleeping in Hatter's embrace. Also Hattie is dreaming about how Hatter will react when he finds out that she is pregnant.
